Wanted to get a real server up and running first as my 8TB is nearly full on the Windows PC. I don't run Ombi (yet) but I've been thinking about it. I emigrated from Sickrage also to Medusa. Wow you sound just like me (but with more experience). The biggest learning curve is probably going to a new torrent client as nothing is available right now, in my opinion, that is quite the same as uTorrent. #UNRAID VPN MONITOR INSTALL#Most of it runs in web GUIs and actually is exactly the same and as easy as just copying over your existing databases/files from your Windows install and adjusting a few settings (mostly file & folder paths). I came from running most of that stuff on Windows 7 previously and it really wasn't too hard to migrate over. I do have Jackett as well, but don't run it since I have found Medusa doesn't really need it for my use case. I run Plex, Tautulli, Ombi, Medusa (previously SickRage until it went stupid), CouchPotato (thinking of switching to Radarr eventually, but complacent for now), rTorrentVPN, and many others on unRAID. So remote access should be pretty straightforward as you can just leave it configured as is, since it sounds like you currently do have that working and using the torrent/downloader/vpn containers above shouldn't affect it. Helps keep your torrent/download requests going through your VPN rather than direct.ĭoing the above also keeps your Plex completely separate so you are not running it through the additional layer of the VPN. Using that you can also route Medusa and other clients through the VPN tunnel if you prefer to do that by configuring the proxy settings in each app. The other nice thing included in binhex's *torrentVPN containers is a Privoxy proxy. Those binhex torrent client containers are built with PIA in mind as the VPN client, so they are pretty much geared towards that and easy to setup if you just read through the first few posts in each of those forum threads linked above. #UNRAID VPN MONITOR UTORRENT#Sadly I have not found one that is as nice to use as uTorrent on Windows, but with a bit of fiddling you can get close. If you are coming from Windows and prefer GUI, then the Deluge one is probably better for you. Need some stupid-simple answers with rationales please!īinhex has unRAID docker container builds that include a torrent client and VPN nicely bundled together - rTorrentVPN, DelugeVPN, along with NZB VPN containers also if you ever go that route. OR, do I keep the automated portions like Radarr/Medusa/Torrenting on the Windows PC and then just transfer files onto UNRAID (as I think of this, that also sounds complicated). is there a way to run XFlak's script to enable Plex to keep running remotely through the VPN? And from what I have briefly read, using something like OpenVPN linked to PIA is the way to go but I haven't learned enough about how. #UNRAID VPN MONITOR HOW TO#I know Radarr and Medusa can be run in dockers (assume some torrent client can as well) but concerned how to incorporate PIA to remain behind a VPN while maintaining remote access to Plex. Have PIA VPN using XFlak's Script to keep Plex accessible remotely. Using Radarr and Medusa (w/Jackett) to grab public torrents and downloading using uTorrent. Looking for input on the best setup to mimic my current setup below.Ĭurrently on Windows PC running Plex Server with Tautulli monitoring. FINALLY installed Plex and Tautulli and got them both working on it (had difficulty with Port Forwarding on router to remote access Plex but finally got it).
